SOME OF

OUR CUSTOMERS'

STORIES

  • THE SURPRISE

A customer decided to surprise his girlfriend with an engagement ring. He came to see us every Saturday for eight months, and would spend at least 45 minutes each time, talking through designs and choosing diamonds. He was delighted with the finished article and, armed with a complimentary bottle of champagne from us, flew her to New York and proposed on Gapstow Bridge in Central Park. We subsequently supplied their wedding rings too, and were delighted when they invited us to their wedding. They loved the personal service they received from us, and not only do they still come to us for other jewellery, but they have also introduced us to other members of the family who have become customers too.

  • FRIENDS REUNITED

A couple first met during their school days, but after school their lives took different paths. They moved away from each other and married other people. After some 25 years, both finding themselves single again, they rediscovered each other through the social networking website Friends Reunited. Romance blossomed. We subsequently had the privilege of hearing their story and creating both the engagement and wedding rings for them: reunited after all that time.

  • THE X FACTOR

It's a very public position, being a judge on the X Factor. We were asked to look after a ring belonging to one of the judges: to clean it and check the diamond settings. The event caused the national press to speculate on why the famous ring wasn't being worn. The simple answer was that it was in our Bishop's Stortford workshop, having a thorough service. We subsequently designed and made a diamond-set stylised initial pendant for the singer's choreographer.

  • THE PROPOSAL

It was a leap year and a young lady, who had been with her partner (and father of her two children) for a few years, decided to propose to him. She came to see us with a few ideas. The final design was for a rose gold and platinum band set with two diamonds. She turned their conservatory into a beach, dressed in bikini and sarong and set the scene for a memorable (and successful) proposal.
